Sales Tax Allocation
Upland's Share of the 7.75% Sales Tax

Sales tax generated in Upland is divided among state, county, and local uses that support a wide range of public services. For every dollar of taxable sales, $0.01 is retained by the City of Upland to fund local services and operations. The remaining portions are allocated to the State of California’s General Fund and to county and regional programs that support public safety, transportation, health, and social services, including funds that are partially shared back with cities. An additional voter-approved share is directed to SBCTA to support regional transportation improvements. The economic reports listed below provide historical context and quarterly detail on how these revenues have performed over time.
