Welcome to the “Notable News Weekly”, where we share the weekly email submitted to City Council and staff since its inception in 2022. This email highlights key accomplishments and updates from across all City departments, giving insight into the projects and programs shaping our community. While not an exhaustive list, it demonstrates the remarkable amount of work happening each week and fosters collaboration, efficiency, and teamwork among staff.

This Week's Notable News Highlights: 

  • City Manager's Office- Vote by mail ballots for the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election were mailed out by the San Bernardino County Registrar of voters on Monday, October 5th.  The City Clerk’s office has a staffed vote by mail ballot drop off available during normal business hours. Additionally, there are two drive through vote by mail ballot drop boxes in the City. One is located in the Civic Center parking lot and the other is located in the parking lot of Magnolia Recreation Center. The drive through drop boxes are available 24/7 until the close of polls on election night.
  • Public Works- Foothill Blvd. Rehabilitation (Benson Ave. to Redding Way) Fire hydrant lateral improvements continue between Mountain Avenue and San Antonio Avenue. Storm drain catch basin construction continues between Mulberry Avenue and San Antonio Avenue. Grouted rock cobble median landscaping improvements being installed between San Antonio Avenue and Redding Way. Water shutdowns and connections for the south side of Foothill Blvd. between Mountain and San Antonio have been rescheduled for overnight work on 10/20, 10/22, and 10/27 when most businesses are closed. Median fill material placement continues from Mountain to Benson in preparation of grouted rock cobble improvements.
