Baldy View Dog Park

Established in 1999, the Baldy View Dog Park has long been a beloved community asset. The original dog park design, implemented 25 years ago, had limited seating, no shade, no playground equipment, and failing water fountain and irrigation systems.

The City closed the dog park in April of 2024 in order to begin construction, moving seating and fencing to a temporary dog park location at Cabrillo Park down the street. Upland residents have patiently awaited this grand reopening. It was worth the 4-month wait as the renovations have transformed Baldy View Dog Park into a modern and welcoming space for both pets and their owners.  The improvements added over 19,000 square feet to the layout with taller fencing, shade structures, concrete tables and benches, drinking fountains, waste stations, and improved landscaping, all designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all park-goers. Dog playground amenities include Tunnel Run, Ramp and Steps, Stepping Cluster, Adjustable Jump, the Tug Around, and even a Canine Condo! In addition to the dog park, the entire park received new water-efficient irrigation and asphalt and concrete improvements which will save water and support ADA inclusivity.

The funding for these enhancements comes from a combination of sources. San Bernardino County Supervisors Curt Hagman and Jesse Armendarez each contributed $500,000 in County Discretionary funding to make this park possible. Additionally, Luke Sugino Architects Inc. generously donated nearly $100,000 in design services for the dog park.
