2025 Light Up The Night Fireworks Spectacular

Get ready to Light Up the Night with your family and friends on Thursday, July 4! The City of Upland will sparkle on Independence Day at Cable Airport with Pop Vision Band performing live from the main stage.  Families will be able to enjoy delicious food from a variety of food and snack vendors or shop at one of the many merchandise vendors. Adults can relax and cool down from the summer heat at one of the Beer Gardens. Children will be mesmerized by the airplane display, free crafts and games, special performances at the Kiddie Stage, or enjoy a ride on one of the new attractions.  Buy your tickets early before they sell out and get entered in special prize drawings. Accessible Event Parking
Limited on-site "Accessible Event Parking" credentials are available with pre-registration only. "Blue Lot" credentials may be picked up, in person, at the Gibson Senior Center only.  The Gibson Senior Center is located at 250 N 3rd Avenue, Upland.  Eligible participants must present a photo of a valid Disabled Person Parking Placard or license plate with legible expiration date and number.  For additional information, please call (909) 981-4501

Road Closures

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Cable Airport without proper event parking credentials. Benson Avenue will be closed from Foothill Boulevard to 16th Street. See above to secure an “Accessible Event Parking” credential.

"Red, White & Bark" Patriotic Pup Photo Contest

Got a pup who loves the red, white, and blue?  Show off their star-spangled spirit and enter our "Red, White & Bark" Patriotic Pup Photo Contest for a chance to win tail-waggin' prizes and bragging rights as they are crowned the cutest or most patriotic pooch around!  


 

 

 

 

ELIGIBILITY
:

  • Open to all pup owners - Upland residents & non-residents are welcome to participate.
  • One entry per pup, per category:  Cutest Canine & Most Patriotic Pup
  • Participants of all ages are welcome to enter.

 HOW TO ENTER:

  • Snap a fun & high-quality photo that shows their festive spirit.  Email the photo to uplandrecreation@uplandca.gov
  • All photos must be taken by the entrant.  Professional photos are allowed only if taken by you.
  • No copyrighted content may be used or digitally altered images or filters that significantly change your pup's appearance.
  • Be sure to include your name, phone number, your pup's name, and a brief description or fun fact about your pup.
  • All entries must be received no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025.

CATEGORY AWARDS:

  • Photos will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, and alignment with the category theme.
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected in each category.  
  • Winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9.

GRAND PRIZE VOTING:

  • One Grand Prize Winner will be selected in each category from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
  • Grand Prize voting will take place on our Facebook page from Thursday, July 10 through Monday, July 14 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Grand Prize Winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15.
  • Encourage friends, family, and neighbors to vote!  Good luck!

By entering, you grant permission for your pup's photo to be used on social media and for promotional purposes.  Entries that do not follow the rules, are offensive, or violate copyright may be disqualified at the organizer's discretion.

Each exclusive kit contains a summer-themed wood cut-out, paint, and a brush. All you need is your imagination to bring your craft to life! Add extra flair with glue and Sharpie markers - the possibilities are endless. Dog Days Of Summer

Fun Begins At 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a paws-itively fun evening starting at 6:00 p.m. with a live performance by The Silverados Band, Southern California’s premier country rock cover band, performing until 7:30 p.m.  Bring your pup and enjoy games, crafts, and activities designed especially for dog lovers! Visit on-site vendors offering pet-friendly products and treats—it’s fun for the whole family, furry friends included.  From 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., cool off with our on-site Ice Cream Social, in celebration of "Parks Make Life Better!"  Then, wrap up the night with a family-friendly screening of Dog Man at 8:30 p.m., under the stars.

Get ready for an evening full of fun, food, and entertainment for the whole family—you won’t want to miss it!  The excitement begins at 5:00 p.m. with our annual Kids' Swap Meet, where you can shop for one-of-a-kind treasures until 8:00 p.m. Enjoy live performances and demonstrations by Contract Instructors Maria Alvarez and Miss V, along with their talented students. Then, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., catch a live performance by Mechanical Melody, a teen cover band that’s been rocking Southern California since 2022.  All evening long, kids can bounce around in our themed bounce house, explore their creativity with crafts and activities, and enjoy face painting provided by First Presbyterian Church, Upland.  Then at 8:30 p.m., gather under the stars for a special screening of Moana 2—a heartwarming, family-friendly movie to wrap up a magical night.
