Hot Dog! Baldy View Dog Park Is Expanding!

Calling all canines:  Paw-ty at the dog park!  The City of Upland's dog park located at Baldy View Park will begin a major renovation and expansion project this year that will bring new amenities and programming for pups, making life more fun for Upland's dog (and their owner's, too.)

The dog park is expanding and utilizing the existing footprint in the redesign.  Both the large and small dog play areas will grow by 20%.  In addition, a slew of other upgrades are coming, including new dog play amenities like ramps and tunnels; additional shade; more seating; concrete paths for accessibility; new entrances to both dog park areas; new sod and LED lighting.  The City will also plan events and programming at the dog park once the renovation is completed and the dog park re-opens.  The work is expected to start soon and wrap up next year.

The project funding is coming from three sources:  $500,000 from the City of Upland Quimby fees (which can only be spent on parks) and $500,000 each from San Bernardino County Supervisors Jesse Armendariz and Curt Hagman, whose districts serve Upland.  Armendariz and Hagman are tapping into their county discretionary funds for district-specific priority programs.  Architectural services are being donated by Luke Sugino Architects, Inc., based in Pasadena.

Please Note:  This project includes irrigation upgrades for Baldy View Park.  The dog park will be closed during renovations and Baldy View Dog Park may have intermittent closures.  Stay tuned for updates on renovations, alternative play options for dogs, and groundbreaking information.

COVID-19 Information & Updates
