Description
Like many other homes in the neighborhood, this one-story Craftsman bungalow is characterized by its generous use of cobblestone. The foundation, porch walls and piers, stair walls, and the curbs edging the front and side yards are all stone. Semicircular drainage openings punctuate the porch walls. A hipped roof with exposed rafters caps the building, which is sheathed in wide horizontal clapboards. The three-quarters porch is centered on the north elevation and is screened in. Within the porch, a wooden door banded by two rows of small square lights can be seen. Tripartite casement and double-hung sash windows appear to have been incorporated into the plan. Other than the porch enclosure, the bungalow is largely unaltered and in fairly good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Known previously as 210 F Street (1928) and 598 North First Avenue (1912 Sanborn), this house was already on site at the time the 1907 Sanborn was published.
