Description
A cross-gabled roof with extended eaves and exposed rafters tops this one-story Craftsman bungalow. The side gable shelters the clapboarded dwelling while the front-facing gable extends over a centered porch. The porch is enclosed by a cobblestone wall. Two tapered and paneled wood posts support the porch gable. Fenestration is symmetrical, with a central entry flanked by tripartite windows. A vent with horizontal slats pierces the front gable. On the south, a chimney has been rebuilt with stone. No other alterations to this well-maintained bungalow were observed. RESEARCH NOTES: Harvey E. and Emma Cassel built this house in 1926-27 according to the assessment record. He was listed as a watchman in the 1928 city directory and as a painter in the 1931 edition.
