Description
This one-story residence is an excellent example of the small Craftsman bungalows found in Upland. A side gable caps the dwelling while a perpendicular gable tops a porch projecting from the north half of the facade. Extended eaves with exposed rafters characterize the gable treatment. Tapered wood posts on cobblestone piers and a cobblestone wall enclose the porch. The fenestration is typical of the Craftsman era with a multi-paned door flanked by tripartite windows. Small rectangular lights band the tops of the windows. The clapboarded structure rests on a stone foundation and is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Rancher Ira W. Edwards and his wife Pearl were the first owners of this house, which was erected in 1927-28.
