Description
This small bungalow reveals the Craftsman style reduced to its essential elements. The clapboarded structure is trimmed with endboards and sits on a cobblestone foundation. A front gable caps the building, its pitch echoed by a smaller gable which projects on the posts over a porch in the center of the facade. Shaded by the porch gable, the entry is slightly offset. It is flanked by paired double-hung sash windows. In fairly good condition, the bungalow is unaltered. RESEARCH blOTE8: Originally this parcel was part of the property associated with 790 Washington. Just when this house was built is not precisely known. There was a one-story dwelling behind the main house in 1928 but it may not have been this one. It is known that this was the home of Minnie Baldwin; she was the assessed owner beginning in 1923.
