Description
Turn-of-the-century and Craftsman detailing are combined to good effect in this one-story dwelling. A front gable roof caps the dwelling and is detailed with extended eaves and rounded rafter tails. The face of the gable is clad with alternating rows of fishscale and rectangular shingles with latticework filling the peak. Clapboard sheathes the principal portion of the dwelling. Recessed across the facade, the porch is defined by a cobblestone wall. Two columns located at the outer corners support the porch roof. A central door opens onto the porch which is screened with leafy vegetation. In good condition, the building has been altered by reframed and re-glazed windows. RESEARCH NOTES : It appears that the last portion of lot 30, which contains this house, was split off in 1911-12, when Robert J. Frownfelter purchased the property from Robert Robson. Frownfelter, a driver, was located on the west side of Campus in the 1912-13 directory.
