Description

Symmetry, typical of Craftsman bungalows of the early 1920s, characterizes this one-story residence. Capped by a side-gabled roof, the structure is covered with narrow clapboard. Rafters are exposed in the projecting eaves. The bungalow is slightly raised on a cobblestone foundation. A front-gabled porch is defined by tapering wood posts and located in the center of the street elevation. It is flanked by 6/1 double-hung sash windows. A stone chimney is featured on the north facade. The bungalow is intact and in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: In 1923, when no improvement was assessed on this parcel, carpenter Harry Dilts was the owner of the land. The following year a house had been constructed and the new owners were driver Ralph Byer and his wife Emily Mae.
