Description
This is a representative example of the clipped gable variant of the Craftsman bungalow typical of the mid 1920s. It is one-story, capped by a clipped side gable roof, and clad with clapboard. Centered on the facade, a projecting porch is defined by a clipped front gable resting on posts. Rafters punctuate the eaves. A vent pierces the gable face. The entry is slightly offset to the south and is composed of a paneled door with four lights. Paired windows to either side appear to have been reglazed. Otherwise unaltered, the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: George and Alma Swindells built this house in 1926-27. Swindells was a bookkeeper with the Ontario Cucamonga Fruit Exchange.
