Description
A stone-and-cement curb edges the front lawn of this one-story Craftsman bungalow, defining a central pathway to the building. The house is capped by a side gable roof accented by a central, shed-roofed dormer. Bargeboards and exposed rafters detail the roofs. The dormer contains a pair of openings, spanning the facade; a porch is recessed beneath the gable. A cobblestone wall and pedestals that carry tapered wood posts encloses the space. At the head of four steps with stone rails, the door is centered and pierced by a diamond-shaped light. Windows with transom-like upper sashes are equally spaced to either side. Unaltered and in good condition, the bungalow is shaded by a mature tree growing out of the front lawn. RESEARCH NOTES: The Sanborns indicate that "499" between 1907 and 1912. Mrs. M.J. Roberts was the owner during those years and later; she lived at this location beginning in 1912-13.
