Description
Set far back on its lot, this one-story Craftsman influenced bungalow is framed by a pair of sturdy palms. The building is front gabled and clapboarded sided. A pent roof caps an attached porch which has been screened. An offset entry and two windows are visible within the porch. The gable face is pierced by a single opening. A cement walk bisects the front lawn, linking the house and sidewalk. Alterations appear to include the porch and the roof fascia. RESEARCH NOTES: The first owners of this house were apparently Isaac and Katie Habegger. In an interview with Mrs. Habegger in 1967 she recounted coming to Upland din 1904 with her family and marrying Isaac Habegger two years later. They bought a small place near the apartment at 403 Campus in which Mrs. Habegger lived in the 1960s. This property was assessed to Habegger, a lemon packinghouse employee , beginning in 1908.
