Description
Like most of its neighbors, this one-and-one-half story Craftsman bungalow rests on a cobblestone foundation. It is capped by a front gabled roof with extended eaves, exposed rafters and a shed dormer overlooking the sideyard. The face of the gable is covered with shingles while the lower portion of the bungalow is sheathed with clapboard edged with endboards. A porch formerly occupied the northwest corner of the house. When it was enclosed, the original window, topped by a diamond-paned transom, was retained. An identical window is located to the south; the openings flank an offset entry. Pairs of double-hung sash windows are in the center of the gable and in the side dormer. Molded lintels and sills adorn the openings. The bungalow is in fair condition. RESEARCH NOTEB: After the 1907 subdivision of the trail in which this house is located, this property was obtained by E.E. and O.N. Miller. From 1909 until 1919 Julia Ruedy was the assessed owner. The house was built prior to 1912 when it appeared on the Sanborn, probably not long after the original sale of the lot.
