Description
Sited on a slightly elevated lot bordered by a stone-and-cement curb, this is a one-story Craftsman bungalow. Two front gables surmount the facade, the forward one topping a now-enclosed porch. Extended rafters, bargeboards, and beams are visible in the eaves. Below vertical venting in the peak of the gable, the building is sided with narrow clapboard. The foundation, stair rails and porch pier pedestals are made of cobblestone. Tapered wood posts sit on the piers at each end of the former porch. Original fenestration on the side elevations is double-hung sash windows in type. The bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record identifies Albert and Nancy Ernest as the owners of this property when the first improvement was assessed in 1923. During the early 1930s Frank James, a lumberman, occupied the house.
