Description
An attractive example of Craftsman styling, this one-story clapboarded bungalow is capped by a side-clipped gable roof. It is accented by a central clipped gabled dormer and exposed rafters in the extended eaves. The focal point of the house is a recessed porch which spans the facade. It is enclosed by four cobblestone piers and a low stone wall. Three steps with stone rails lead to the central entrance. Fenestration characteristic of the period is symmetrically arranged within the porch and includes a wide paneled door with full length side lights and broad, tripartite windows to each side. This well-maintained bungalow is unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: All that can be said with certainty regarding the origins of this house is that it had been built by the time the 1915 assessment, which included a $395 improvement, was made. The lot was subdivided in 1907, owned by H.N. Scholl in 1908-09, Avis V. Anderson 1910-22 and Charles E. Anderson from 1922. Anderson was a fruit inspector.
