Description
A one-and-one-half story bungalow, this building is capped by a side gable roof with a large, front gabled dormer. Rafters and beams are visible in the overhanging eaves. The dormer opens onto a balcony and contains a paneled and glazed door and a double-hung sash window. An iron railing has been added. Shingles side the dormer while narrow clapboard above a sill molding and medium clapboard below it clothe the lower story. A porch spans most of the facade and is defined by a stuccoed wall which carries four sets of paired posts. The posts frame three bays which are occupied by an entry in the center and tripartite windows in the sides. Although the balcony has been altered, the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Most likely this bungalow was erected shortly after the subdivider, A.G. Allen, sold the lot, around 1913. Owners of the property in the decade after that year included George Elliott, Henry G. Klusman, and Alva W. and Maggie E. Benson.
