Description
Located at the southwest corner of Arrow and Campus, this is a one-story Craftsman bungalow. Below a cross gable roof the building is sheathed with clapboard. Fishscale shingles face the gable ends. Exposed rafters, bargeboards with rounded ends, and triangular braces characterize the roof treatment. The bungalow has been substantially altered by the enclosure of a porch which spanned the north and a portion of the east elevations. A pergola serving as a carport at the northeast corner may be a remnant of the original design. A concrete block wall hides most of the east side of the building from view. The property appears to be in fairly good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record indicates that J.H. Mehl was the owner of this property from 1908, following the Magnolia Land and Water Company and H.S. Williams (1907). The house had been constructed by 1915, when an improvement assessment was recorded. No other information about the intervening years was located.
