Description
This one-story Craftsman bungalow features low-pitched front facing gabled roofs: one covering the dwelling unit and the second, offset to the east, covering the projecting porch. Extended bargeboards, exposed rafters, projecting beams, and vertical stickwork in the gable peaks characterize the roof treatment. Battered wood posts on cobblestone pedestals support the porch roof. The porch is accessed by four steps and enclosed by a cobblestone wall. It contains the entry, which is more or less centered on the facade, and a pair of one-over-one doublehung sash windows to the right (east). Another pair of windows are located to the left of the entry. The bungalow is sheathed in clapboard and is in good condition RESEARCH NOTES: The first improvement assessed on this lot was recorded in 1922 when the owner was Richard G. Mauley. Mauley, the city engineer and street superintendent, was located here with his wife Marjorie in the 1922-23 directory.
