Description
Set under the branches of a mature evergreen tree, this is a onestory Craftsman bungalow. The lap-sided structure is capped by extremely low-pitched front gables. A three-bay porch spans the facade, enclosed by a cobblestone wall with battered pedestals upon which tapered posts sit. An extension of the porch beams over the driveway to the south to another pair of pedestals and posts creates a porte cochere. It is shaded by lathework. The entry is centered on the facade, with casement openings in the side bays. Double-hung sash windows are used on the side elevations. Low rock curbs define the front yard and a central pathway. Apparently unaltered, the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: The tax records for this property indicate that Robert M. and Jessie G. Klindt bought an empty lot from C.C. Eymann in 1922. In 1923 a $600 improvement was recorded. Klindt was a clerk at Henry Klindt Grocers while Jessie was a phone operator with the Ontario and Upland Telephone Company, according to the 1924 directory.
