Description
Typical of the 1920s, this one-story Craftsman-influenced bungalow is extremely simple in design. Sheathed in narrow clapboard, the building rests on a stone foundation. A side gable caps the dwelling while a front gable tops a projecting porch. Roof details include extended eaves with exposed rafters and plain bargeboards. A small square vent occupies the face of the porch gable. Stout posts support the porch gable, framing an offset entrance. It is flanked by pairs of one-over-one double hung sash windows. Unaltered, the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: John W. and Mary P. Hall were the first residents of this house. Hall was a bookkeeper with Grier and Redmon.
