Description

This one-story Craftsman bungalow sits behind a front yard full of succulents. The main portion of the dwelling is covered by a low pitched, gabled roof parallel to the street. A secondary gable extends over a large front porch. The porch roof features an extended bargeboard, exposed rafters, cross beams, wood post supports, and vertical boards in the gable face. Opening onto the porch is a central door with four elongated lights in the upper portion, flanked by half-length side lights. Other fenestration is hidden from view. The bungalow is in fairly good condition, but has been stuccoed. RESEARCH NOTES: It appears that this house was built circa 1913, after the publication of the 1912 Sanborn. The first documented owner/resident is Charles P. Fuller, whose title dates to 1913. Fuller, the Upland City Clerk and secretary of the Citizens Land and Water Company of San Bernardino, was located at "904" from 1914 to 1923, according to the directories. The next residents were Owen and Lulu Atwood; Atwood was treasurer of the J.J. Atwood Company and Upland City Treasurer.
