Description
This late Craftsman residence is one-and-one-half stories and capped by a front, closed gable roof. Wide clapboard edged with endboards sheathes the lower portion of the structure while slightly narrower clapboard covers the gable face above a pent roof and a shed dormer looking south. Exposed rafters punctuate the eaves. The porch, cut away from the southeast corner of the structure, is defined by wood posts and a stick railing. The main door is located under the porch facing south. Two one-over-one double-hung sash windows in the porch face the street. Other fenestration includes a tripartite window on the north half of the primary facade and a pair of sash windows on the gable face. The structure sits on a stone foundation, appears to be unaltered and in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: All of the available sources indicate that this house was built by P.J. Wiebe, a teacher, in 1921-22.
