Description
Clean lines are the keynote of this one-story Craftsman bungalow. Sheathed in clapboard, the bungalow is massed beneath a front gable roof. A second gable, with an open truss in the face, tops an attached porch centered on the facade. Battered posts on cobblestone bases carry the porch gable. The porch contains two windows set at unequal distances from either side of the slightly offset entrance. In good condition, the bungalow is largely unaltered. The property is bordered by a low cement curb at the sidewalk. RESEARCH NOTES: Oscar and Mamie Youngdahl had this house built in 1923-23. Oscar Youngdahl was a telegraph operator, according to the 1926 directory. The house remained in the family until the 1950s.
