Description
A variety of side and front gabled roofs accent this one-story Craftsman bungalow. The main portion of the dwelling is covered by parallel side-gabled roofs. A front gable extends over the raised north portion of the facade while a smaller gabled hood marks the entrance. Extended bargeboards, exposed rafters, and brackets are used throughout to detail the roofline. Alternating medium and narrow clapboard edged with endboards sheathes the structure which rests on a cobblestone foundation. Four steps lead to an open porch which is defined by cobblestone pedestals on the west half of the facade. The front door is paneled with four small lights along the top. All of the windows on the facade have been reglazed; otherwise, the bungalow is intact. It is in fair condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Robert and Isabelle Wisely owned this property prior to improvement. Their daughters, Rhoma and Vesta, were assessed for the first improvement in 1929. Robert Wisely was a building contractor whose name is associated with numerous homes built in the 1920s in Upland.
