Description
An attractive example of Craftsman styling, this one-story bungalow features a low pitched front gable with exposed trusswork facing the street. Heavy cobblestone piers at each corner of the facade carry the gable. A pair of stone pedestals flank the entrance of the recessed porch. An off-centered door flanked by sets of three windows open onto the porch. The bungalow is in good condition and unaltered except for the asphalt shingle cladding. A cobblestone retaining wall edges the property. RESEARCH NOTES: Comparison of the 1912 Sanborn, which showed an empty lot at this location, and the assessment record, which indicates an improvement on site in 1915, indicates the period of the construction of this bungalow. L.E. Tucker was the owner in 1912-1914 and E.C. Rosenberger from 1915 to 1920. Elsen C. Rosenberger lived at "1071" according to the 1916-17 directory.
