Description

A stone porch wall and chimney are the identifying characteristics of this one-story Craftsman residence. Sheathed in clapboard, the building is capped by front and side clipped gables. Beams and rafters are exposed in the eaves. An attached porch, offset to the east, is defined by a front gable and a cobblestone wall. It contains the entry, a multi-paned door flanked by sidelights, and a large window banded by small square lights at the top. A similar window is located on the facade west of the porch. The chimney rises above the east elevation; another stone chimney is set further towards the rear. The house, more typical of the "in town" homes south of Foothill, enjoys a modest, neatly landscaped setback. It appears to be unaltered and in good condition.

No historic information about this house was recovered. It appears to be sited in lot 439 of the Ontario Colony and, with 439 E. 15th, may have been a grove house associated with the property. It is notable chiefly for its isolated location.
