Description
High walls and gates protect this 1.06 acre property from curious
eyes. It appears to contain a one and two-story residence in the
Spanish Colonial Revival Style. The gray stuccoed structure is
capped by a tiled gable roof with purlins exposed in the gable
ends. Fenestration consists mostly of casement windows and trim
is wrought iron. Brick paves the driveway and a large courtyard.
Fruit and other trees dot the property. Further details,
including condition and integrity, are unknown.
his property remains a mystery. Clearly it predates the
subdivision surrounding it. Because of its presumed age (circa
1925 based on style) and its size, it can be reasonably expected
that this was the grove house for lot 396 of the Ontario Colony.
As such it is a significant resource in the context of Upland's
agricultural past.
