Description
Screened by trees and other vegetation, this two-story residence
appears to be influenced by the Spanish style. It is stucco
sided, with a cobblestone foundation. The shape and materials of
the roof are unknown. Recessed verandas with flattened arch
openings characterize two corners of the house. Iron railings
are a later modification. Windows may also be altered. Little
else of the house, which occupies a large
property near the corner of 24th and Mountain, can be seen.
According to the assessment record this property, part of lot 134
of the Ontario Colony, was owned by B.B. and Ada Bliss in the
1920s. The directories confirm that B.B. Bliss lived at 24th and
San Antonio. In 1934 several members of the Angel family also
lived at 2390 San Antonio. Presumably this was a grove house; it
is estimated to date from around 1920.
