Description
Sheathed with wide horizontal lap siding, this one-story English bungalow is capped by an intersecting gabled roof of medium pitch. The front-facing gable is pierced by a pointed arched vent and flares out over an arched vestibule more or less centered on the facade. Tripartite windows with multi-paned sashes are located to both sides of the vestibule. A slightly elevated porch with an altered railing fronts the entry and the right (east) bay. No other facade alterations were noted; the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: D.M. and Sissy Kirkwood were the owners of the first assessed improvement on this lot, $1100 in 1926. Dennis Kirkwood was a barber at 232 Second Avenue. The family moved from Campus Avenue to 122 Vernon Drive (probably the Ontario address for this street) in 1926.
