Description
Trees and hedges effectively screen this two-story Craftsman home from view. It appears to have a side gabled roof with a large front dormer containing a lattice vent and a triple window. Braces are visible in the eaves. The house has been re-sided; however it retains its cobblestone foundation and stair rails. It appears that the porch has been enclosed, and the entry is now adjacent to a tripartite window with diamond paned upper sash. The property is in fairly good condition, RESEARCH NOTES: E.L, Berry acquired this lot from the subdividers Leeke and Walline in 1908-09. By 1914 Edward Berry, grocer, was in residence at the northeast corner of 9th and Laurel, according to the directory. The house is shown on the 1912 Sanborn indicating its construction prior to that year.
