Description
A porch which spans the facade is the most notable feature of this one-story Craftsman bungalow. The porch is capped by a lowpitched front gable which has flat extensions to either side. Three posts sitting on tapered cobblestone pedestals support the porch roof. Another gable, also low-pitched and front-facing, tops the main volume of the house. Both gables have vertical venting in their faces; braces and rafters are exposed in the eaves of the primary roof. The building has a clapboarded exterior and cobblestone foundation. Although the porch fenestration has been altered, the bungalow is mostly intact. It is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Sarah and Alan A. Couch erected this building in 1920-21, according to the assessment records. The 1922-23 directory lists A.A. Couch, rancher, with a house on West 10th.
