Description
This one-and-a-half story Craftsman home features a large, frontgabled dormer and a porch recessed across the facade. The dormer projects from the side gable that caps the dwelling. It contains a band of six eight-light casement windows set within a flattened arch. The porch is defined by the overhang of the main gable and by a cobblestone wall which enclosed the space. Tapered posts sit on the wall and carry the overhang. Five steps lead to a central entry. Large windows to either side of it have decorative tracery in their upper sashes. The house, which has a clapboarded exterior and a cobblestone foundation, is in good condition. It appears that the soffits and roof fascia have been altered. RESEARCH NOTES : The assessment record reveals that Thomas and Ella Ketcheson built this home in 1924. Ketcheson was a rancher, according to the 1926 directory, which lists his address as 227 10th.
