Description
Deeply set back on the lot behind a white picket fence, this is a one-story Craftsman cottage. A gabled roof set parallel to the street caps the clapboarded structure while a front gable tops a more-or-less central entrance. The entrance is framed by two tall boxed hedge. Roof details include extended eaves and exposed rafters. Narrowly proportioned double-hung sash windows are located to both sides of the entry. Apparently unaltered, the cottage appears to be in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Leola Lee acquired this property from Emily Axson in 1928. She was assessed for a $480 improvement in 1930. A cashier at Empire Realty and Mortgage, Lee lived on Campus Avenue.
