Description
Simple in design, this one-story Craftsman bungalow is sheathed with clapboard and covered by a side gable roof. The three-bay facade is arranged around a central attached porch. A front gable, carried by tapered posts on concrete pedestals, is detailed with exposed braces. Double-hung sash windows with larger lower sashes are located in the side bays. Other features include exposed rafters, and medium clapboard siding. Other than an eight-panel door, the bungalow appears unaltered and in fairly good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Hiram and Mary Waterman added a $700 improvement to this property in 1922-23, according to the assessment record. The 1924 directory listed the Watermans at 2207 Laurel, which may or may not have been the Ontario address for this house; the Watermans were associated with several addresses on the street. Curiously the 1912 Sanborn shows a house at this site, although the 1914 improvement assessment was $0.
