Description
Simple Colonial Revival influences inform this two-story, turnof- the-century residence. A clipped gable roof, oriented with the gable end facing the street, caps the structure. Medium horizontal siding, neatly trimmed by endboards, frieze board, and boxed eaves, sheathes the house. A pent roof carried on plain posts and an open railing define a porch which is attached to the lower facade. Fenestration is strictly symmetrical, with a central entry flanked by double-hung sash windows on the lower story echoed by another pair of sash windows and a central, attic vent in the upper story. Shutters adorn the windows. Unaltered, with a generous, landscaped setback, this well-maintained home is reminiscent of a farmhouse. RESEARCH NOTES: Only one owner was noted in the early assessments for this property. Henry A. Albee was an employee of the Ontario Power Company.
