Description
This typical bungalow of the early 1920s imposes Colonial symmetry on the Craftsman prototype. Beneath a side-gable roof, the building is one-story, sheathed with clapboards, and trimmed with endboards. It sits on a stone foundation. The facade consists of three bays, the center containing a recessed entry with a jerkinhead gable hood, the sides tripartite windows. Apparently, unaltered, the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES : Frank Nichols acquired this lot from James Goodban in 1919. The first improvement was assessed in 1924 for $1000. Nichols was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank, according to the 1924 directory. His home address was 2236 N. Laurel Avenue, probably the Ontario number for this house.
