Description
A front facing gabled roof is the focal point of this one-story Craftsman bungalow. Clapboard siding sheathes the lower portion of the bungalow. Alternating bands of ordinary and fishscale shingles face the gable end below a latticed vent. Recessed across the facade, the porch is defined by cross beams, tapered wood posts and a solid balustrade. A central door is flanked by cottage windows with diamond-paned unner sashes. The bungalow is unaltered and in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Historically this lot is associated with the two north of it. Initially all three were owned by Kittie R. Jordan (1900-01) and then by Robert Siechert (from 1902). Of the three houses, this was the last to be built. It did not appear on the 1912 Sanborn. However, around 1915 Siechertls address in the directories changes from 457 to 443 Third Avenue, indicating the construction of this house.
