Description
Oversized fishscale shingles in the gable face and around the porch provide a decorative note in this one-story, board and batten, shot-gun house. The house is covered with a gabled roof set perpendicular to the street. Enclosed by a low porch wall and screens, the porch is recessed across the facade. Fenestration is symmetrically arranged with a centered door and two windows opening onto the front porch. The house sits behind a picket fence and is in fair condition. RESEARCH NOTES: It appears that this cottage pre-dates 1907 when a building with this footprint and cloth sides was pictured on the Sanborns. It was owned subsequently by Henry B. Tucker, a piano agent, who lived there in 1909-10 before moving to West Street.
