Description
A one-story English Revival bungalow, this stuccoed dwelling is organized into three bays below a clipped side gable roof. The primary focus is the south bay which is topped by a clipped front gable and contains a tripartite window with an arched head. Both the side bay and the north bay, set beneath an extension of the roof, are raised. They frame a glazed central bay which contains the entry. Other features include exposed rafters, a tall louver vent in the apex of the gable and a stucco chimney on the south elevation. The window in the north bay has been altered. No other modifications were observed, and the bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: In 1926, when Clyde and Helen Duncan purchased this lot, there was no improvement on the property. The following year a $1250 improvement assessment was made. They lived at this address, according to the 1928 directory. Clyde was a clerk at the Ontario-Cucamonga Fruit Exchange and an Upland fireman. Helen was a bookkeeper at Mehl Hardware Company.
