Description
A tiled roof and stuccoed exterior indicate the Spanish Colonial Revival intentions of this design. Front and side gables cap an L-shaped facade. The front gable tops the projecting wing of the L. It contains the entry, set within a flat arched recess, and a broad front window, topped by a wood lintel. A patio fronts the rear leg of the L. It is not clear whether the house has been remodeled or is simply a late adaptation of Spanish design. It is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: G.B. and Etta West, the subdividers, sold this property to Archie and Dorothy Neilson in 1929-30. The Neilsons were assessed for a $1600 improvement in 1930. Archibald Neilson was the manager of the Upland Citrus Association. The 1931 directory lists the Neilsons at this address.
