Description
Although this one-story Craftsman bungalow has been altered, it retains its characteristic low gabled roof and cobblestone porch pedestals. The gable faces front and is vented across much of the gable end. At one time the gable topped a porch; the space is now enclosed. It is defined by slightly battered porch piers. Other original elements include a cobblestone foundation, clapboard sidingland exposed beams and rafters. In addition to the porch enclosure, the bungalow has been altered by the replacement of doors and windows. A hip roofed wing to the north of the gabled wing may be an addition. The property is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record indicates that Wilbur L. and Bertha E. Waterman purchased this lot in 1921. In 1923 the first improvement was assessed, indicating construction in 1922-23. Waterman was associated with the garage that bore the family name at 132 Euclid, according to the 1924 directory.
