Description
effectively utilized in this modest, one-story bungalow. A front gable intersects the main, side-gabled roof, capping a porch which is recessed across the front (east) elevation. Extended beams punctuate the overhanging eaves. A tripartite vent and window opening is set into the front gable. Two more tripartite openings flank a wooden front door with ascending lights which is centered in the porch. Four stone pedestals delineate the porch; tapered wood porch supports top the pedestals on either end. Sheathed in narrow overlap siding, the house is complemented by the stonework on the porch, by a stone chimney which rises above the north end of the roof, and by lush vegetation. It appears to be substantially unaltered and is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: According to the assessment record, Mary Eckerman was the owner of this property at the time of the first assessed improvement in 1923.
