Description

This one-story front-gable Craftsman bungalow with a screened-in porch is very similar to its neighbor to the south. The facade is spanned by the front gable and the porch. Four triangular braces support the roof overhang. A small tripartite opening consisting of a window flanked by lattice screens, sits in the center of the gable end. Narrow overlap siding sheathes the house, which has a stone foundation. The north end of the house features a bay and a brick chimney. In fairly good condition, this simple bungalow appears relatively intact. RESEARCH NOTES: It is likely that L.R. Bradley, a prominent member of the citrus industry, constructed this house circa 1909. He was the first assessed owner following subdivision, and the 1911 directory indicates that he lived on Euclid Avenue. In 1912 the Sanborn illustrated 1151111 at this site. Following a brief ownership by John Scott (1913), the property passed to Samuel G. Moore. Moore, a foreman at the Lemon Growers Exchange in 1916-17, was listed at "527" in the directory. The 1919-20 edition placed Moore and his wife Flora at the same address and identified his occupation as machinist.
