Description
Distinctive Craftsman details are found in this one-story bungalow with two offset front-facing gables. Each gable end features a tripartite window with ornamental paning and the overhanging eaves are supported by carved brackets. A stone wall with cement coping defines the porch; tapered wooden posts rise out of stone pedestals to support the porch roof. The front door is centered beneath the rear gable and pierced by a diamondshaped opening. To the south of the door, a large window with a transom-like upper sash overlooks the porch. Three openings, screened by foliage, pierce the overlap-sided structure on the north side of the porch. In good condition, the bungalow appears unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: Vestal and Cecelia Parker had this house built around 1909-10, following their purchase of the property from sub-divider G.B. West. In 1912 the Sanborn mapped "607" at this location. The directory of 1912-13 listed the Parkers on the west side of Euclid between 10th and 11th; he was a salesman with the E.A. Bowen Company. In 1916 Parker was identified as a rancher, while in 1919-20 he was a clerk.
