Description
This one-story bungalow reflects the influences of both the colonial Revival and Craftsman styles. A jerkinhead side gable caps the overlap-sided building. Its symmetrical, three-bay facade features a central entry beneath an open, jerkinhead gabled hood with triple casement windows in each side bay. Colonial Revival elements include the pilasters flanking the entry, end-boards, and two brick chimneys. Exposed rafters, a stone foundation, and low stone porch pedestals are more Craftsman in inspiration. In good condition, the bungalow appears largely unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record indicates that Lillian Baxter was the owner of this property at the time of the first assessed improvement (1922). She purchased the property from the Upland Construction Company. One possibility is that they bought the land in 1920 and constructed this house on speculation.
