Description
One of several examples of English influenced styling on this block of Euclid, this is a one-story, stuccoed residence. Its Lshaped facade is determined by relatively steeply pitched front and side gables. The front gable over the short leg of the L which projects at the north end of the facade is distinguished by a curving flare of the roof towards the south. At the south end of the long leg, the entry is characterized by a front gabled hood and a segmental arched head. A small raised bay abutting the entry is ornamented with an arched niche; its top has been altered. The arch motif is repeated by a small window beneath the front gable and round-headed vents in the gable ends. Other openings are casements, grouped in threes. The house is in good condition and largely intact. RESEARCH NOTES: Louis Westerburg, a rancher, and his wife Elizabeth were the first owners of this property after the tract was subdivided in 1927. The house was built in 1928-29. According to the 1931 directory, this house was formerly known as "1128."
