Description
Simple Spanish style architectural conventions were employed in this one-story residence. The re-stuccoed building consists of four unalike bays, including a porte cochere at the north end of the facade. Ornamental shields note the bay divisions near the roofline. A broadly rounded parapet distinguishes the largest bay on the south while a tiled shed roof just below a plain parapet tops the slightly set-back bay to the north. Tripartite, multi-light windows fill each of these bays, with a tiled hood shading the south opening set back slightly further. The porte cochere and the north bay, which contains the entry, also are spanned by a tiled shed roof. The house is in good condition, altered by the character of the new stucco and an aluminum awning over the entrance. RESEARCH NOTES: Miles and Alice Harnly, who lived south of Foothill on Euclid, were the owners of this lot when the improvement first appear in 1929.
