Description
The division of the facade into three differently articulated bays that characterizes many English styled bungalows is in evidence on this one-story residence. Front gables of different heights but similar pitch top the end bays. A chimney bisects the south bay. The central bay has been altered; beneath the broadly arched eaves it has been enclosed and a canopy added. Another archway, a round-headed opening, is located south of the chimney. Other windows are flat-headed. The house is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Charles and Lela Eppler, who owned much of the property in this tract, were the owners of this lot in 1929 when an improvement assessment first appeared. Eppler was a building contractor who lived elsewhere. According to notes in the Upland history collection in the library, this was the home of C.H. Lehman, a policeman.
